This is a brochure produced by George Reed and Sons Ltd in the 1930s to promote three of their new housing estates in North London. The stylised cover of the brochure shows a nostalgic image of an idyllic ‘Tudoresque’ suburban house, with a smoking chimney. George Reed and Sons Ltd was established in 1922. The company was responsible for a large number of housing developments in North London during the 1920s and 1930s. The demand for private housing was increasing rapidly in these decades, as people moved away from the city centres in pursuit of a better lifestyle.
