Katagami stencil with patterning of plant stems coiled into circles and sprigs of leaves and fruit or flowers. Tie bars are used to hold the stencil structure, these would be covered over by paste applied by hand or through a second stencil so would not appear on the printed textile. This stencil was used in a Silver Studio, number SD11824. This stencil is of the sansun okuri or koban size class (determined by the repeat length).
