Katagami stencil depicting bamboo, pine and plum blossom. these trees are the 'Three friends of Winter' bamboo which shows perseverance in resisting Winter storms, pine which represents longevity and remains green in Winter and plum which flowers in late Winter representing renewal. The majority of the design is cut is with an awl (kiribori technique). This stencil is of the sansun okuri or koban size class (determined by the repeat length).
