More details

This Daily Mail Book of House Plans was published in 1960. In the 1960s, the Daily Mail newspaper was the paper of conservative middle England. The house plans in this book reflect the aspirations of that audience. The family homes featured were spacious and contemporary, but drew from the softer American modernist style of housing rather than on traditional English architecture. The book also has a section of house plans drawn from exhibits in the Ideal Home exhibition of 1960, when bungalows were popular.
