This screen-printed chintz textile was produced in about 1958. The pattern uses two floral groups arranged in a repeating pattern with delicate drapery swags around each motif. The designer took inspiration from Regency styles. Historically-inspired designs such as this would have appealed to British consumers who were seeking a traditional look for their homes in the 1950s.
