This block-printed glazed chintz was designed by the Silver Studio in about 1920. Designers in the 1920s sometimes looked to countries in the East for inspiration. This chintz pattern uses freely drawn stems of bamboo and palm leaves with pink lilies and small flowers. Plants such as these were used to give an exotic feel to otherwise familiar-looking designs.
