More details
This hand-embroidered panel of twill-woven wool and cotton was produced in about 1905.
The panel uses a repeating pattern of stylised tulips, roses, leaves and birds and is a good example of art nouveau designs that were increasingly popular during the late nineteenth and early twentieth century.
A combination of different stitches have been used to create the design, including chain and satin stitches.
