More details

Dress collar with a lively design of leaf shapes in shades of orange, brown and blue. The scale and immediacy of the design suggest it may have been produced at an artist's workshop rather than an industrial-scale printworks. A renewed interest in craft based printing techniques in the 1920s saw the establishment of a number of specialist, hand-block printing workshops. The work of Phyllis Baron and Dorothy Larcher, and the Footprints design studio is particularly well known. This collar is likely to have been part of the Silver Studio's reference collection.
