More details

This is a woven cotton furnishing fabric from about 1935. It features a jagged arc pattern that might be stylised foliage. It is possibly a Silver Studio design. Organic and floral motifs were not popular amongst design-conscious people in the 1930s. When flowers and plant forms were used in designs, they were often highly stylised as seen here. This gave the ‘cleaner’, more modern look that we now associate with the decade.
