More details

The is a woven wool tapestry probably designed by the Silver Studio and manufactured by Vanoutryve et Cie in around 1905. The tapestry has a design typical of the Silver Studio's Art Nouveau productions of the early 1900's. This sample features broad-leaved acanthus and heavy, tulip-like flowers, on a striped ground, in rust red, deep blue and dark green, on a light green ground. The texture of the cloth suggests that this sample is probably of French manufacture.
