More details
Christmas card from Edmund and Dorothea Hunter depicting a pear tree and pictorial symbols from the carol 'On the first day of Christmas', in brown and cream from 1935. Edmund Hunter was apprenticed to Arthur Silver in 1884, and remained in contact with the family until his death. He had started the St. Edmundsbury Weaving works at Haslemere - later at Letchworth, and when the firm was taken over by the Morton Sundour Fabrics Ltd. in 1928 to form the Edinburgh Weavers, Rex Silver was able to sell them some of his most important designs in the 1930s.
