More details
A label probably designed by Arthur Silver and featuring a boat, for the 'Silvern Series' in 1889. This was a series of individual photographs taken by Silver of the textile collection in the Victoria and Albert Museum. The photographs were sold commercially, either as a source of inspiration for designers, or to be adapted by the Silver Studio to suit a manufacturer's particular needs. His choice of textiles to photograph provide invaluable information on thoses historic textiles which influenced the development of British Art Nouveau.
