More details
This design for a pewter dish or tray was created by Archibald Knox for the Silver Studio in about 1903.
Archibald Knox sold designs through the Silver Studio from the late nineteenth century onwards. He created Art Nouveau designs inspired by ‘Celtic’ art. The ‘Celtic’ look was a nostalgic style inspired by various historical cultures in Britain and Europe, but was faithful to none.
This design uses stylised leaves with interweaving stems arranged to form a trinity pattern.
