This design was made to be printed on linen damask and was part of the 'Gazelle series'. In 1944 Harold C. Bareham created several designs featuring these repeating gazelles (for example SD13495) for the Silver Studio. During the same year he also designed another similar series in which whales alternated with trees or seaweed (SD13510).
