Shand Kydd Wallpaper Pattern Book

This is starry blue wallpaper sample is from a Shand Kydd wallpaper pattern book from around 1955. The album contains very modern wallpaper designs and many of them, e.g. 'Erica', 'Promenade' and 'Mexico' can be found in the John Line & Sons pattern books as well. The samples range from star and striped designs to pictorial or more traditional scenes, in typical 1950s bright lime, red, yellow and blue colours. Each are stamped on the verso with a title, number and price and the designs are numbered from 203 - 101. The pale blue front cover includes a pretty stylised rose and leaf trade mark. Although Shand Kydd did not join the WPM until a later date, this pattern book forms part of the Crown Wallpaper archive given to MoDA.
