A wallpaper sample from a catalogue by Lighbown Aspinal and the WPM from 1954. This sample has a squared basket-weave effect pattern created by interweaving horizontal and vertical thin stripes, in ochre and white, on a red ground. Papers such as these were often used for three walls in a room, in conjunction with a more demonstrative pattern on the remaining wall.
