DIA Yearbook and Membership List, 1951

This cover channels an expressive, painterly style of design found at the Festival of Britain in 1951. After the austerity of Britain during the war, artist turned to bright colours and new modes of expression which emerged in design in variety of ways. The colour combination of grey and lemon-yellow in combination with the broken surface on the cover are very much in tune with the aesthetic of cutting edge British design at the time.
