More details

This photograph is one of two photographs and two questionnaires in a collection relating to a home on Meadway Estate, Southgate in the 1950s and 1960s. The house was decorated with wallpaper similar to a paper in MoDA's collection (SW842). The property cost £4250 in 1957. It was a semi detached, mock Tudor house with three bedrooms, built about 1928 as part of the Meadway Estate, Southgate. Reflecting on the house, the owner recalled: "When we moved to this house everything was decorated in green which I disliked and redecorated to make it look fresh light and modern. We had long red velvet curtains."
