Plexus

Textile fabric designed by Sven Fristedt for the Swedish textile manufacturing company Boras Wafveri in around 1958 while Frisedt was still a student at Beckmans College of Textile Education. Frisedt went on to be an important and influential textile designer producing classic designs for Boras Wavferis and Ikea. The fabric features a large-scale, flat design based around a grid. Within the squares formed by the grid lines are irregular, sun-like shapes. These appear in shades of dark blues and greens on a black ground, with grid lines in a deep purple.
