‘Practical Flats at Northwood Hall’ was published by Herbert Fitch & Co Ltd of London in 1935. During the 1930s, over 56,000 flats were built in Greater London. They suited the smaller family size that was becoming the norm and promised to help make busy city life easier. The flats advertised here had a restaurant, sun balconies, an optional maid service and the most ‘up-to-date equipment in London’. Everything in the ‘ultra modern labour-saving flats’ had been designed for convenience and effortless modern living.
