More details
This woven cotton tablecloth is from about 1952.
In the 1950s, fashionable textiles used bright, abstract patterns such as those shown at the Festival of Britain in 1951. However, these new designs were difficult to incorporate into the average suburban house, so nostalgic patterns such as this were still popular during this period.
The woman who owned this tablecloth regularly shopped at Dunn’s of Bromley, so the tablecloth may have been purchased there in the early 1950s.
