More details

This cover uses two fonts to show the traditional moving into the modern. The cover connects war-time America and post-war America through a transition of typefaces. The stencilled lettering is reminiscent of war-time packing cases and signs, symbolising strength, patriotism and tradition. The sans serif Helvetica used for the send half of the title implies modernism and Europeanism. One font moving into another implies progression and growth in American design.
