Pair of yellow black and white curtains

This fabric was used to make a pair of curtains in about the mid-1950s. After the Second World War, manufacturers began to produce textiles with contemporary designs in bright, bold colours. This particular fabric uses a pattern of calligraphic black and white lines on a vivid yellow background and is typical of popular contemporary style in the 1950s.
