More details

The photograph on this cover shows how relationships within the picture frame work. The statues of the seated boy and man echo each other, setting up a rhythm that draws the eye from the foreground into the destruction of the church beyond. The window tracery in the centre of the photograph is also framed by the ruin of the church, all of which leads the viewer’s eye around the cover in a predetermined way.
