This is a carpet design by Arthur Silver for the Silver Studio in 1896. The design of heavily stylised flowers and leaves in muted colour shades would have been used for a patterned carpet with a large border. Carpets such as this were popular in British homes at the turn of the century. This design shows the influence of famous designers such as William Morris on late nineteenth century interior design.
