More details
This wallpaper was designed by Armfield-Passano, and was manufactured by John Line and Sons in 1951. Diana Armfiled and Roy Passano began their design and printing company while still students at the Central School of Art and Design. From 1946-1952 they worked together in Belsize Park, London creating designs and were a success from the start. Their work was included in the 1951 Festival of Britain. This particular design was featured in both House and Gardens magazine (1951) and Interiors journal (1952) in articles focussing on the latest trends in wallpaper design. The company closed in 1952 when Passano left for Canada, Armfield went on to have a career as a teacher and painter.
