More details
This is a design for a printed furnishing by Lewis Jones for the Silver Studio in 1932. It has a pattern of orange tulip flowers and blue leaves, against a background of black ogees and black and white cloud shapes. This design is closely adapted from a design by Seguy, of the early 1920s, and is indicative of the delay in which the English took up French designs after the 1925 exhibition. It also indicated the continuing popularity in England of the French decorative art in the 1920s, especially for cheaper textiles and wallpaper.
