A brilliantly-coloured butterfly design for printed silk for women’s summer dresses. It was created by one of the Silver Studio’s designers in around 1925. Fabrics with ‘all over’ patterns like this were popular for dresses because they worked well with curves and gathers. Designs like this also work in either direction, making the dress pattern economical to cut out.
