More details

This is a design for a printed textile by R.J. Doughty for the Silver Studio in around 1912. It is an interesting example of a very late Art Nouveau design that provides a link between English Art Nouveau and French modern design of the period 1910 - 1920. The design itself comprises clusters of pale yellow or orange flowers and blue or black leaves, within modern cloud-like shapes joined by black stems and leaves, in bright green, mid-blue and purple, on a deep red ground.
