Rose and rosebud chintz design

This is a design for a printed textile by Lewis Jones for the Silver Studio in 1936. This is a floral chintz design of rose and rosebud groups with birds; all on a green ground. On this part of the design, there is a large bird, partially cut off the edge, in the lower right hand corner and a smaller bird in the upper left hand corner The Silver Studio's designers frequently produced sketch ideas like this one, to show their clients for approval. If approved, the design could be reworked to show the full repeat.
