Red and white pattern design

Laurence Scarfe initially trained as a mural painter but throughout his career he worked in a wide variety of media including illustration for magazines and books, ceramic decoration and poster design. This is an example of one of the designs he did for wallpapers, like many of his other wallpaper designs, it is made using a lino cut.
