More details
A sample of wallpaper featuring thin stripes in silver, lemon yellow and white on a neutral coloured ground.
This wallpaper was used to redecorate the entrance hall or corridor area of a property on Mersea Island, Essex during the 1960s. It was a large Edwardian house with a big garden, lived in by the donor and her parents. The donor's father was born in 1877 and so had Victorian tastes which meant that the house was furnished and decorated in a rather old fashioned and cluttered style. This design is fairly plain and traditional in contrast to the modern and lively pictorial paper (BADDA4556) which was chosen at the same time by the donor, then a teenager.
