More details
This is a small textile sample produced by the manufacturer Arthur Sanderson & Sons Ltd in the 1930s.In the 1930s, nostalgic designs were popular with British consumers who were seeking a more traditional look for their homes. Patterns such as this used naturalistic plant motifs and offered an alternative to the geometric styles that were fashionable with design-conscious consumers at this time.
This is one of a number of examples which belonged to an ex-employee of Sanderson's.
