More details
This hand block-printed cotton was designed by Phyllis Barron for manufacturer Turnbull & Stockdale Ltd in about 1935.
Block-printing textiles by hand was a labour intensive process and fabrics produced this way were expensive. This fabric uses a popular geometric pattern and would have been fashionable with design-conscious British consumers in the 1930s.
