More details

This directory about Hampstead was pubished in London in 1915. It was a regular publication containing an index for the district, general information about the area as well as advertisements for local services, tradesmen and amenities. Hampstead Garden Suburb was developed in 1907 by pioneering urban planners Barry Parker and Sir Raymond Unwin. The buildings they created were inspired by historical British styles and created a village look for the development. The development was driven by philanthropist Henrietta Barnett, who wanted to protect the area from the uncontrolled development that new transport links would create.
