April 10 @ 10:00 am - 6:00 pm

This conference is the conclusion to the MoDA’s Arts Council England funded research project, Katagami in Practice: Japanese Stencils in the Art School.

The day will feature the practitioners who have taken part in MoDA’s project, along with researchers from a number of other institutions.  The day will explore the ways in which Katagami (Japanese stencils used for printing kimono cloth), and other Japanese imports like them, influenced modern practices of craft and making, as well as how they influenced designers and makers of the nineteenth and twentieth centuries.

Please book your place through the Middlesex University online system.
